Gilbert O. Paulsrud,
Born July 13, 1867, Sondre Odalen, near Kongsvinger, Norway, to Ole Gulbrand and Jacobine (Oiseth) Paulsrud. At age 8 they moved to Graeker, Østfold. Immigrated in 1887, arriving in Chicago with 50¢ in his pocket. He worked in a cabinet shop and attended night school. Married Anne Olson, Aug. 16, 1899. Died Oct. 15, 1954, at Randall, Ia. He attended Red Wing Seminary; Hanna Divinity Seminary, (B. Th. 1898), Springfield, Ohio; University of Oslo.

Ordained in 1899. He helped organize Ebenezer Luth. Church, Chicago,

and the Luth. church in Joliet, Ill. Served Elim Luth. Church, Randall, Ia., from 1901 until he retired in 1942. Meanwhile

he served Bethel, Story City, Ia., and Immanuel, Wallingford, Ia. He organized Bethesda, Ames, Ia., in 1905, and served it till 1910. He was a member of the Board of Education of the Hauge Synod, and of the board of Home Missiona (American Missions) of the

Evangelical Lutheran Church.
