Born Sept. 23, 1890, Nesodden, near

Oslo, Norway to Gustav Nikoai Hansen (1865-1951) and Anne Mathea Hansen (Kristiansen) (1863-1936) Opsand. Brothers: John (1897-?);

Aksel (1903-23) i Erling (1902-?). Sisters: Gunda (1877-?); Martha (1893-?);

Thora (1899-1963). Immigrated in 1908 to Decorah, Ia., where he farmed most of his life.

Married Gunille Wettleson, Apr. 20, 1914, Gunder, Ia. (d. 1937);  & Olga
Bidne, Big Canoe, Decorah, la., 1943.

Received State of Iowa Master Farmer award, 1955.

Daughters: Alma; Hildur; Ruth; Norma; Rosella
